The “ICAC International Seminar 2023, Taipei” will take place on October 18th. This will mark the 8th ICAC international seminar to be held in Taipei City. This is a gathering of international cotton and textile industry related professionals and experts to get on top of the key development trends and find cooperative opportunities in the cotton and textile value chain.
Severe global market disruptions caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine have led to oil, gas and raw material price increases, intensifying inflationary pressures and threatening supply chain stability. Global economic uncertainty has weakened overall demand in the textile & apparel industry. Meanwhile, in order to implement the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, the cotton and textile industry needs to actively pursue sustainability solutions and adopt circular economy business models. Facing these challenges, the theme of this year's seminar is "Sustainability and Innovation in the Global Textile Value Chain.”
This year, we have invited Mr. Mark Sussman, member of the Executive Committee of the Private Sector Advisory Council of the ICAC, to serve as keynote speaker and share his in-depth knowledge on the “Outlook for the Global Textile Supply Chain.” Moreover, the theme of the panel discussion will be “Current Status of Sustainable & Innovative Development in the Cotton and Textile Industry.” With the profound experience of the experts on the panel, we will dive deep into the subject. We believe the discussion will be of significant benefit to our industry.
